YoungLEAD project aims to aide teachers of children aged 11-16, especially children from disadvantaged and migrant backgrounds, in developing leadership skills and understanding of European values among children. Teaching immigrant children about European values is important for their successful integration into EU society. It helps them feel connected, promote social cohesion, improve their employment prospects, and enriches their cultural understanding.
The general objectives are:
- To foster soft skills in children aged 11 to 16, such us leadership skills, decision-making, communication, social participation, and digital competency.
- To develop educational materials for primary school teachers to promote leadership skills while strengthening the understanding of the EU values.
- To foster interpersonal and intrapersonal skills and implement digital resources, especially among the Ukrainian kids.
- To learn and exercise the shared European values that the students will learn through this project.
The main results are:
- A methodic guideline for educators rooted in metacognitive training bridging the theory with practice.
- Educational games – games encouraging the development of leadership skills and shared European values.
- Digital OERs in form of learning nuggets.
- A platform for all OER materials and resources to be readily available for application by teachers and students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
